Dear Parents,
We are very excited to report
that we raised $10,110.10 for the Tequisquiapan Orphanage during our Red Nose
Day event. It was wonderful to see our students enjoying the activities
provided by our energetic teachers! I hope that you enjoy the photos included
in the electronic version of the newsletter. Thank you very much to Miss
O’Reilly and Mr Murphy for organising such a successful and enjoyable day.
Yesterday, Rodrigo (year
12) and Almira (year 11) participated in the Shakespeare competition final in
front of 500 people at the Teatro Helénico in Mexico City. They performed
amazingly and the host was very impressed with their hard work. Schools from
all over the country sent competitors and the winner is given the opportunity
to travel to UK or New York for a drama course. Well done, Rodrigo and Almira!
Year 2 went camping this
week to Fantasía Acuática. The children had lots of fun collecting insects,
swimming, hunting for Easter eggs, telling jokes next to the camp fire and
working in teams. Thank you to all the parents who helped with transport, to
Fantasía Acuática and to the VICTORIA team: Miss Beaty, Miss O’Reilly, Mrs
Gracida, Susi, Ale, Gustavo, Aída, Maru and Arely, for organising the camp and
for all their support throughout their stay.
Congratulations again to
Melissa in year 7 who was appointed President’s Secretary in the Boys and Girls
in Government Competition. Well done!
On Wednesday 20th
March, Ickmas & Co came in and gave a very interesting and informative talk
about headlice. Sadly, only 3 mums attended the talk. Dr. América would like to
remind you that year after year there are headlice breakouts in all schools in
Queretaro, and it is very important to take preventative actions as well as be
aware of the various options to eradicate the problem. Please contact Ickmas

On Thursday 18th
April, Francisco Hinojosa will visit VICTORIA. Mr. Hinojosa is a Mexican writer
and poet, author of “The Worst Woman in the World”, among others. The Librería
Rulfo will also be here with some of his books for sale. We will give you more
information once we get back from the Easter holidays.

anywhere outside the school or on any of the roads immediately near the school.
If there is something you must do in school, please park your car in the school

We have added some
documents on sex education to the parents’ area of the website. Please log in for some ideas on how to talk
about the topics with young children and adolescents. If you would like a login
name and password to access the area, please email Gloria Sánchez (gsc.ibv@gmail.com) your name and your child’s name.
There will be no
extra-curricular activities during the first week of the new term. We will upload
the new timetable to our website on Friday 12th April so that pupils
can choose in what they would like to participate. Homework Club will not be running
during that first week of school, so we would like to remind you to arrive on
time, no later than 3:15pm, to collect students. Thank you.
My next parenting talk
will be on Wednesday 17th
April and we will be continuing the theme of motivation. It starts at 1:45pm and will take place in
room 1010.
This week, blue slips were placed in every
student’s diary. Please read them, write your child’s full name and CIRCLE if
you AUTHORISE or DO NOT AUTHORISE your child’s photo to be used in school
publications. These should then be returned to school. If you have any
questions please call Reception. Thank you.

ESTIMADOS PADRES DE FAMILIA:
Estamos muy emocionados en reportar que reunimos $10,110.10 para la Casa
Hogar el Día de la Nariz Roja. Fue muy grato ver a nuestros alumnos divertirse
durante las actividades que prepararon nuestros maestros tan activos. Espero
que les gusten las fotografías que se incluyen en la carta enviada por correo

exitoso y lleno de diversión.
El día de ayer, Rodrigo (Año 12) y Almira (Año 11) participaron en la
final de la Competencia de Shakespeare frente a 500 personas en el Teatro
Helénico en la Ciudad de México. Su presentación fue asombrosa y el anfitrión
mencionó lo impresionado que estaba con su trabajo. Escuelas de toda la
república enviaron competidores y al ganador se le da la oportunidad de viajar
al Reino Unido o a la ciudad de Nueva York a tomar un curso de teatro. ¡Bien
hecho, Rodrigo and Almira!
Año 2 se fue de campamento esta semana a Fantasía Acuática. Los niños se
divirtieron mucho ya que coleccionaron insectos, nadaron, buscaron huevos de
Pascua, contaron chistes junto a la fogata y trabajaron en equipo. Muchas gracias
a todos los papás por ayudar con el transporte, a Fantasía Acuática y al equipo
del VICTORIA: Miss Beaty, Miss O’Reilly, Mrs Gracida, Susi, Ale, Gustavo, Aída,
Maru y Arely; por organizar el campamento y por todo su apoyo durante su
estadía.
Muchas felicidades, Melissa (Año 7), por resultar electa Secretaria del
Presidente en la competencia de Niños y Niñas en el Gobierno. ¡Bien hecho!
El miércoles 20 de marzo, Ickmas & Co. dió la plática acerca de los
piojos, estuvo muy interesante y educativa. Tristemente, solo 3 mamás
acudieron. La Dra. América les recuerda que año con año hay brotes de piojos en
todas las escuelas de Querétaro, por lo que es muy importante tomar medidas
preventivas y conocer varias opciones para erradicar el problema. Favor de contactar

El jueves 18 de abril
VICTORIA recibirá a Francisco Hinojosa, escritor y poeta mexicano, autor de
muchas obras entre ellas “La peor señora del mundo”. La Librería Rulfo estará
presente con algunos de sus libros a la venta. Al regresar de las vacaciones de
Semana Santa les daremos más información.
Muchas gracias a todos por respetar el sistema de tránsito. Les
recordamos no estacionarse en la parte de afuera de la escuela o en cualquiera
de las calles circundantes. Si hay algún asunto que tratar en la escuela, les
pedimos que estacionen su auto dentro de la escuela. Gracias.
En el sitio web de la escuela, en la sección para padres, subimos unos
archivos acerca de la educación sexual. Por favor accedan y vean algunas ideas
de como abordar los temas a niños pequeños o adolescentes. Si requieren de un
usuario y contraseña para poder entrar a la sección para padres, por favor
envíen un correo con su nombre y nombre de su hijo(a) a Gloria Sánchez (gsc.ibv@gmail.com).
Durante la primera semana del siguiente periodo, regresando de las
vacaciones, no habrá actividades extracurriculares. El viernes 12 de abril, se
subirá al sitio web el nuevo horario para que los alumnos puedan escoger las
actividades en las que les gustaría participar. No habrá Club de Tareas durante
esa primera semana por lo que les pedimos a todos los padres de familia lleguen
puntuales a recoger a los alumnos, a más tardar a las 3:15 p.m. Gracias.
Mi siguiente plática será el miércoles
17 de abril y se continuará con el tema de la motivación. La
plática inicia a la 1:45 p.m. en el salón 1010.
Esta semana se colocaron formatos azules en los diarios de los alumnos.
Por favor lean la información, escriban el nombre completo de su hijo(a) y
CIRCULEN si AUTORIZAN o NO AUTORIZAN el uso de las fotografías de su hijo(a) en
publicaciones de la escuela. Favor de regresar los formatos. Si tienen alguna
