Dear Parents,
Yr 12 had a
fantastic trip to Riachuelos where they helped out at a local primary school,
had crab races on the beach and boat races in the mangroves. Everyone came back thoroughly exhausted but
raving about the unforgettable experience they had had!
Something
Different Week has been a huge success in Secondary. Thank you very much to Mrs
Pallares, Mrs Pruneda and Mrs Monjaraz who worked very hard to organise the
activities. Our students went swimming, enjoyed ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’
at the cinema, cooked, participated in sports activities and made alebrijes!
Thanks to Miss
O’Reilly’s inspirational idea, our Primary students had great fun representing
their Culture Week countries at the Olympics. They took part in an opening
ceremony and a marathon as well as the high-jump, long-jump, hurdles and
discus!
We will be
holding a Talent Show on Friday 29th June at 7:30pm. This year the
talent show will be slightly different. It will be an opportunity for some of
our Primary pupils to show off their many skills and talents. They have put a
lot of energy in to practising and we hope that you will come along to support
them!
The PA would
like to invite all parents to their Annual General Meeting to elect the new
committee at 12:00 pm on Tuesday 21st August in room 1011. We hope
that you are able to attend; this will give you the opportunity to be a part of
the VICTORIA decision-making process. I know that many of you have opinions
about what needs to be changed at VICTORIA; now is your chance to make it
happen by becoming a member of the PA.
A few
reminders:
· The closing
ceremony will take place on Monday 2nd July at 9am.
· The first day
of classes after the summer holidays will be Wednesday 22nd
August.
· We will hold
meetings for parents and students to come and meet their new teachers on Monday
20th and Tuesday 21st August. The timetable is as follows:

Estimados Padres de Familia:
Año 12 disfrutó mucho de su campamento
en Riachuelos; mientras estaban allá, ayudaron a una escuela Primaria local,
hicieron carreras de cangrejos en la playa y de lanchas en los manglares. Todos
regresaron exhaustos pero al mismo tiempo encantados por haber vivido una
experiencia inolvidable.
¡La Semana de Algo Diferente en
Secundaria fue todo un éxito! Muchas gracias a Mrs Pallares, Mrs Pruneda y Mrs
Monjaraz por haber trabajado tanto en organizar las actividades. Nuestros
estudiantes nadaron, vieron la película de ‘Blanca Nieves y el Cazador’,
cocinaron, participaron en actividades deportivas e hicieron alebrijes.
Gracias a la gran inspiración de Miss
O’Reilly, los niños en Primaria, se divirtieron muchísimo representando al país
que investigaron durante la Semana Cultural, en las Olimpiadas que se
organizaron en la escuela. Se dio inicio con una ceremonia de apertura y un
maratón, además de competencias de salto de altura, salto de longitud, vallas y
de disco.
Este viernes 29 de junio a las 7:30
p.m. tendremos el Show de Talento. Será un poco diferente este año. Algunos
alumnos de Primaria tendrán la oportunidad de mostrar sus habilidades y
talentos. Los participantes han estado practicando mucho y espero que todos
vengan a apoyarlos.
La APF invita a todos los padres de
familia a su Junta Anual el martes 21 de agosto a las 12 p.m. en el salón 1011 para
elegir el nuevo comité. Esperamos que todos puedan asistir ya que es una muy
buena oportunidad para formar parte de la toma de decisiones en VICTORIA. Sé
que muchos de ustedes tienen sugerencias e ideas acerca de lo que puede cambiar
en VICTORIA, ahora tienen la oportunidad de hacer que los cambios se hagan
realidad al volverse miembros de la APF.
Los recordatorios de la
semana:
- La Ceremonia de Clausura se
llevará a cabo el lunes 2 de julio a las 9 a.m.
- El primer día de clases después de
las vacaciones de verano es el miércoles 22 de agosto.
· Las juntas padres y alumnos para que
conozcan a sus maestros nuevos serán el lunes 20 y martes 21 de agosto. El horario es el siguiente:
