Parents,
Congratulations to all the
bands who participated in Battle of the Bands and a special well done to
‘Legend of Dirt’ who came first. Thank
you to Carlos Andrés in year 9 who inspired us to host the event! Many thanks
to Alan Pfeiffer, Mr Devlin, Jon Bonfiglio, Mrs Pruneda, Miss Greer, Mr Gregory
and Mr Nevett for judging the event and thank you to Mrs Gilby and Mr Duncombe
for organising it.
Year 9 visited San Miguel
de Allende on Monday and had a great time viewing the church, taking a tour of
the town and exploring the botanical gardens.
Thank you to all the staff who went with them.
I would like to say a
special thank you to the Trejo Ocampo family for their warm hospitality on
Saturday. VICTORIA staff had a wonderful
time at the ranch!
Thank you very much to
Carmin Buzali for coming in to Kinder and helping us with the belly-dancing and
tabuleh recipe!
Our pupils have had a very
sporty week! They had a great time
participating in Rugby and tennis sessions. Thank you to Guiluome from the
Queretaro state coaching squad and to the Las Cavas tennis coaching team. Our
year 6 pupils spent the day at La Vega on Wednesday where they learned about
water safety and had a good time practising their swimming skills.
Some of our students
learned a great deal from observing the concrete being poured on to the roof of
the new wing of the main VICTORIA building this week. We are excited to be having two new
classrooms in August and this almost completes our construction work with only
four more classrooms left to be built before the school building is complete. I
would like to thank our Hacienda Grande families for beginning their ambitious
project of tidying up our car park area.
The school is already looking better and it also enabled teachers to
park their cars away from the roof construction work on Monday. We are eager to
see the final results.
Next week there will be no
after-school activities. I would like to
thank all the VICTORIA staff for their time and dedication in providing such a
wide range of extracurricular learning opportunities for our pupils.
I understand that several primary families
missed their copies of this letter, last week, as they were voyaging far and
wide! I hope that people were able to read the letter on-line. Don't forget the
convenient e-mail 'delivery' system too. The word of the week is attendance.
A few reminders:
·
The last day of classes will be on Wednesday 27th
June and all students will receive their boletas on this day if fee payments
are up to date and library books have been returned.
·
The closing ceremony will take place on Monday 2nd
July at 9am. Students should arrive punctually at 8:00 am and all parents are
cordially invited to arrive at 9:00 am.
·
We will be holding a talent show on Friday 29th
June at 7:30 pm.
·
The first day of classes after the summer holidays
will be Wednesday 22nd August.
·
We will hold meetings for parents and students to come
and meet their new teachers on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st

Estimados
Padres de Familia:
Muchas felicidades a todas las
bandas que participaron en la Batalla de las Bandas y una felicitación muy especial
a la banda “Legend of Dirt” quienes ganaron la batalla. Muchas gracias a Carlos
Andrés de Año 9 por inspirarnos a realizar el evento. Muchas gracias a Alan Pfeiffer,
Mr Devlin, Jon Bonfiglio, Mrs Pruneda, Miss Greer, Mr Gregory y Mr Nevett por
ser jueces y gracias a Mrs Gilby y a Mr Duncombe por la organización.
Año 9 visitó San Miguel de
Allende el lunes y tuvieron un gran día viendo la iglesia, tomando un tour del
pueblo y explorando los jardines botánicos. Gracias a todo el personal que los
acompañó.
Le quiero agradecer mucho a la
Familia Trejo Ocampo por su hospitalidad el sábado. ¡El personal del VICTORIA
se la pasó muy bien en el rancho!

por venir a Kinder y ayudarnos con el belly-dance y por la receta de tabouleh!
¡Nuestros alumnos tuvieron una
semana muy deportiva! Se divirtieron mucho participando en las sesiones de
Rugby y tenis. Muchas gracias a Guilluome, el entrenador del equipo del estado
de Querétaro, y al equipo de entrenamiento de tenis de las Cavas. Los
estudiantes de Año 6 estuvieron el miércoles en La Vega y aprendieron a cerca
de la seguridad en el agua y practicaron sus habilidades de natación.
Esta semana nuestros estudiantes
aprendieron mucho al observar como se vaciaba el concreto al techo de la nueva
ala del edificio principal del VICTORIA. Estamos muy emocionados de poder
contar con dos nuevos salones en agosto y esto casi da por terminado nuestros
planes de construcción con sólo cuatro salones más por construir. Quiero darles
las gracias a las Familias de Hacienda Grande por iniciar su ambicioso proyecto
de limpiar nuestra área de estacionamiento. La escuela ya se ve mejor y esto les
permitió a los maestros estacionar sus autos lejos de los trabajos de
construcción del techo el pasado lunes. Estamos ansiosos por ver los
resultados.
La próxima semana ya no habrá
actividades extra-curriculares. Le agradezco mucho a todo el personal del
VICTORIA por todo su tiempo y dedicación en proporcionarle a todo el alumnado
las oportunidades de aprendizaje con las actividades extra-curriculares tan
variadas.
¡Tengo entendido que muchas familias de
Primaria no obtuvieron su copia de esta carta la semana pasada por estar
viajando alrededor del mundo! Espero que hayan tenido la oportunidad de leerla en
línea. No se les olvide que se lo podemos enviar por correo. La palabra de la
semana es asistencia.
Los recordatorios de la semana:
· El último día de clases será el 27 de
junio. Todos los niños recibirán sus boletas este día siempre y cuando estén al
corriente con sus colegiaturas y hayan regresado todos los libros de la
biblioteca.
· La Ceremonia de Clausura se llevará a
cabo el lunes 2 de julio a las 9:00 a.m. Los alumnos deberán llegar
puntualmente a las 8:00 a.m., se les
invita a todos los padres de familia llegar a las 9:00 a.m.
· Nuestro gran Show de Talento se
presentará el 29 de junio a las 7:30 p.m.
· El primer día de clases del próximo
ciclo escolar es el miércoles 22 de agosto.
· Las juntas para padres y alumnos se
llevarán a cabo el lunes 20 y martes 21 de agosto. El horario es el siguiente:
