DEAR PARENTS,
María Gallegos (Year 8) recently received 2nd place, representing VICTORIA, in the 9th Tequisquiapan National Cultural and Tourism Competition for Children. María was awarded a prize by Lic. Mauricio Salmón, the Secretary for Tourism in Querétaro, for her fantastic drawing. Well done, María! We are very proud of you!
Many thanks to Mr Murphy, Mr Cuevas, Miss O´Reilly and Ale for taking Year 6 on their adventurous camp. They enjoyed participating in many activities including horse-riding and feeding lambs on the ranch.
We would like to thank everyone who so generously donated toys to the Orphanage. By midday Monday, 90% of the list had been donated which says so much about the commitment and solidarity of the VICTORIA community.
Another big ‘thank you’ goes out to the Muñoz Rodríguez family for getting the orphanage the gas tank they needed so badly. Our new donation objective is a 4.5k fire extinguisher required by the local Civil Protection office.
On Tuesday 6th December our Secondary boys’ team played football against the Sovany School and won 7-1! Congratulations to the boys and thank you to everyone who came along to show their support! The word of the week is ‘cancelled’.
Next week the following teachers will be running their activities:
· Mrs Domínguez, Mrs Clemens, Mr Nevett, Miss Wadsley, Mr Gregory, Mrs Cazares, Mr Murphy, Mr Uribe, Mr Duncombe, Mr Ruiz and Miss Cheng.
Please check the list carefully and be aware that the teachers who are not mentioned will not be running their activity as it is the last week of term.
Just a few reminders:
· This weekend is our International Cricket Tournament. It takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 9am onwards. Please come and show your support!
· We are also holding our ex-alumni get together on Saturday 10th December.
· I would like to invite all Secondary parents (Years 7 to 11) to attend a talk about developing children’s social and emotional skills at home and to share what we are doing in school. This will take place on Wednesday 14th December at 1:45pm in Room 1010. Please let Lety know at Reception or email me at direccionkt_ibv@prodigy.net.mx if you would like to attend.
· On Thursday 26th January, 2012, we will be holding an open morning for prospective parents to come and have a look around the school from 9am until 12pm.
Prior to the open morning we will be holding informative talks throughout the month of January on the following days:
o San Juan del Río – Wednesday 11th January at 9:30am in Arkos Quinta Real, Av. Paso de los Guzmán #52
o San Gil – Wednesday 18th January at 9:30am in the Club House, San Gil
o Ezequiel Montes – Wednesday 25th January at 9:30 am in the restaurant ‘El Recuerdo’, Joaquín Vega S/N
Please come along to the talks and invite any friends who may be interested in sending their children to VICTORIA in the future. If you would like some invitations to give to friends, please contact Lety in Reception.

On Thursday 15th December, you are all cordially invited to our Christmas concert which begins at 10am. May I remind you that students should arrive at 8:00am, as usual, on Thursday. It would be a shame to bring your child at 10am and find that their role has been given to another pupil. Students will be free to go home after the concert and on Friday school also finishes at 11:30am.

Estimados Padres de Familia:
María Gallegos (Año 8) recientemente recibió 2do lugar por representar al VICTORIA en la 9a Competencia Nacional de Cultura y Turismo Infantil de Tequisquiapan. El Lic. Mauricio Salmón, Secretario de Turismo del Estado de Querétaro, le dio a María su premio por el dibujo tan bonito que realizó. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de ti!
Le damos las gracias a Mr. Murphy, Mr. Cuevas, Miss O´Reilly y Ale por llevar a los niños de Año 6 a su campamento lleno de aventura la semana pasada. Se la pasaron muy bien y participaron en actividades como montar a caballo y alimentar a los borregos del rancho.
Le agradecemos a todos los que tan generosamente donaron juguetes a la Casa Hogar. Para mediodía del lunes ya habían recibido el 90% de los juguetes de la lista lo cual habla mucho del compromiso y solidaridad de la comunidad VICTORIA.
También queremos agradecerle mucho a la Familia Muñoz Rodríguez por donar un tanque de gas estacionario a la Casa Hogar que tanta falta les hacía. Ahora estamos buscando que se les done un extintor de 4.5 k que le pide Protección Civil.
¡El martes 6 de diciembre el equipo de fútbol de Secundaria jugó en contra del Colegio Sovany y ganó 7-1! Felicitamos muchísimo a todos los jugadores y les damos las gracias a todos los que acudieron para apoyar a nuestro equipo. La palabra de la semana es ‘cancelado’.
La próxima semana los siguientes maestros continuarán dando sus actividades:

Por favor revisen muy bien esta lista, los maestros que no se mencionan no se quedarán a dar su actividad ya que es el fin del periodo.
Más recordatorios:
· Este fin de semana es nuestro Torneo Internacional de Cricket. Será el sábado y domingo de las 9 a.m. en adelante. ¡No dejen de venir y apoyar a los jugadores y equipos!
· La reunión de ex alumnos se llevará a cabo este sábado 10 de diciembre.
· Invito a todos los padres de familia de Secundaria (Años 7 a 11) a que asistan a la plática acerca del desarrollo de las habilidades sociales y emocionales en casa y compartirles lo que están haciendo en la escuela. La plática será el día miércoles 14 de diciembre a la 1:45 p.m. en el salón 1010. Si les interesa asistir, contacten a Lety en Recepción o envíenme un correo direccionkt_ibv@prodigy.net.mx.
· El jueves 26 de enero del 2012 habrá una mañana abierta de 9:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m. para aquellos padres de familia que les interesa venir a ver la escuela.

El jueves 15 de diciembre están cordialmente invitados a nuestro concierto de Navidad que empieza a las 10:00 a.m. Les recuerdo que los alumnos deberán llegar el jueves a las 8:00 a.m. como siempre. Sería una lástima que traigan a sus hijos a las 10:00 a.m. y que el rol se le haya dado a otro compañero. Los estudiantes se podrán ir a casa en cuanto termine el concierto y el viernes las clases terminan a las 11:30 a.m.
¡Espero verlos en el torneo de cricket este fin de semana!
