WEEKLY NEWSLETTER No. 713

Friday 18th March, 2011.
DEAR PARENTS,

We have had great fun today celebrating Red Nose Day and raised lots of money for the Orphanage in Tequisquiapan!  This event has become famous within Tequisquiapan and I even had children from other schools asking me if they could attend for the day.  Our own VICTORIA pupils didn’t want to go out on school trips in fear of missing the fun!  We shall update you next week with the amount we have managed to raise.
I would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Gilby, Mr Uribe, Mr Cuevas, Mr Hiley and Mr Duncombe for all their hard work in organising Primary Music Night and thank you to all the very talented participants!  It was a wonderful evening and I’m sure you enjoyed it as much as I did.
We would also like to thank José Sebastian and his family for putting new beads on the year 3 abacus.  They look better than they have for a long time!
We have had a very generous book donation from the Cruz Ramírez family.  Thank you very much for this, we really appreciate receiving new books for the library.
Thank you very much to Mrs Mainou for donating a bicycle to our Early Years department.
Tickets are on sale for our production, ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ which will be held at Villa Florencia
on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th March.   Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased in Reception with Lety.  There are also t-shirts for sale, costing $65.

Just a reminder that on Monday 21st March school will be closed.
Next Tuesday 3pm-4pm, the Zumba activity will recommence so I will look forward to seeing you all there.

Next week is Book Week in primary.  Classes will be basing all their work on the text, applying learned skills to new situations.  Parents are invited to visit any time after 1 o’clock on Friday 25th March.  If you then intend to take your children home early please write a note in their diary earlier in the week.

I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable long weekend.

Yours sincerely,
Dr. Kelly Tanner,
Academic Director.
