CARTA SEMANAL No. 714

ESTIMADOS PADRES DE FAMILIA:
Esta semana estuvo corta en el VICTORIA, pero llena de actividades. Debo agradecerle a todos aquellos que ayudaron a organizar la maravillosa presentación de la obra ‘La Vuelta al Mundo en 80 Días’, por su colaboración en conjunto para hacer que la presentación fuera todo un éxito. Por lo tanto, les damos las gracias a Mr Felsman, Mr Duncombe, Mrs Gilby, Miss Marshall, Miss O’Reilly, Mr Hiley, Mrs Nevett, Mr Nevett, Mr. Binnis, Mr. John Henshaw, Jessy Moreno, Lety Pacheco, Rodolfo Guerrero, Lety Ochoa, Gloria Sánchez y Gloria Pagés por todo el tiempo y esfuerzo que le dedicaron. No podemos olvidar a los alumnos que actuaron o apoyaron, por lo que los felicitamos y les damos las gracias. ¡Sé que están de acuerdo conmigo; “la actuación y el escenario” estuvieron espectaculares! Por último, queremos expresar nuestra gratitud al Hotel Villa Florencia por permitirnos utilizar su bello teatro.
Ahora hay que agradecerles a todos los que participaron en nuestro evento del “Día de las Narices Rojas” para que éste fuera todo un éxito. Hasta el momento hemos recaudado $11,908.00 pesos. El Orfanato de Tequisquiapan nos ha enviado un reconocimiento especial por todo nuestro apoyo. Si les interesa ver las fotografías que tomamos ese día o leer el ensayo de Mrs. Pruneda, por favor envíen su solicitud de amistad al “Instituto Bilingüe Victoria” en Facebook. Además, podrán ver aquí publicadas las cartas semanales en inglés y en español.
Felicitamos a nuestros alumnos de año 6 que participaron en el Día Mundial de las Matemáticas, por haber obtenido la puntuación más alta y ganarse una suscripción gratis para todo el grupo para el resto del año escolar. ¡Bien hecho!
Como les informé en la carta pasada, esta semana organizamos La Semana del Libro durante la cual tanto maestros como alumnos se divirtieron mucho en llevar a cabo una serie de actividades basadas en el libro que leyeron. Por ejemplo, los niños de Año 5 hicieron pasteles de hada; Año 2 creo un búfalo gigante y en Kínder hicieron títeres para los dedos del personaje el Oso Paddington. ¡Espero que todos hayan disfrutado las presentaciones de esta tarde!
Para concluir, les recuerdo que se aseguren que mantengan las revisiones oculares y auditivas de sus hijos al día. La doctora América ha enviado notas en los diarios de aquellos niños que se beneficiarían de una revisión más detallada. Les pedimos que por favor nos informen de los resultados obtenidos en estos exámenes.

DEAR PARENTS,
A short but very busy week here at VICTORIA. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to organise the wonderful Around the World in 80 Days performance. So many members of staff worked together to make it the success that it was, so thank you to Mr Felsman, Mr Duncombe, Mrs Gilby, Miss Marshall, Miss O’Reilly, Mr Hiley, Mrs Nevett, Mr Nevett, Mr. Binnis, Mr. John Henshaw, Jessy Moreno, Lety Pacheco, Rodolfo Guerrero, Lety Ochoa, Gloria Sánchez and Gloria Pagés for all their tremendous hard work. Also, a big thank you to all the pupils who performed and helped out with the performance. I think you will all agree when I say that both the drama and the scenery were spectacular! We would also like to say a special thank you to the Hotel Villa Florencia for enabling us to host the production in their beautiful theatre.
Another big thank you to everyone who participated in our Red Nose Day events. So far we have raised $11,908.80! The school community has received a special thank you from the orphanage in Tequisquiapan for all our support. Congratulations to all the primary pupils who participated in World Math’s Day. Our year 6 pupils attained such high scores that we have won the prize of a free subscription for year 6 for the rest of the academic year. Well done!
This week has been Primary Book Week and the pupils and teachers have had great fun carrying out a variety of activities based around their book. I know that year 5 have made fairy cakes, year 2 have made a giant gruffalo and Kinder have made Paddington Bear finger puppets. I hope you enjoyed the presentations this afternoon!
I would like to remind you about ensuring that your child’s hearing and vision checks are up to date. I know that our school doctor, America, has sent notes home to notify you if your child would benefit from further eye tests. Please let us know when you have the results of these tests.
